Jessica has been with Emphasys for 25 years next month, in roles that include Technical Writer, Web Developer, and now, Marketing Manager. Working on a marketing team means wearing many hats, and Jessica has embraced that variety. A typical day may include AI marketing strategy, email campaigns, video production, blogs, event planning, and analytics. She enjoys the challenge of connecting the right message with the right audience.

Jessica calls the scenic countryside of Northern Michigan home, where she says things like “pop” (that’s soda, for those not fluent in Great Lakes), “yooper,” and even “ope” if she needs to squeeze past ya in the grocery store. If you ever ask her where in the Mitten State she lives, get ready for an impromptu geography lesson as she holds up her hand to demonstrate. She shares her rustic paradise with her husband, a mischievous beagle, and all the snow you could ever want. Jessica is also the proud mom of two sons and grandma to two granddaughters, both of whom will know exactly where to point on their own hands if you ask where grandma lives. It’s a Michigan thing.

The Five Questions:

    1. Most used app on your phone? TikTok. I’m convinced the algorithm understands me better than I do myself..
    2. If you could be somebody else at Emphasys for a day, who would you be? Jeff Cook. He has a knack for taking raw data and presenting it in a way that’s immediately useful.
    3. If you had an extra hour every day, what would you do with it? Read more Jane Austen.
    4. The zombie apocalypse is coming; who are three people you want on your team?
      Les Stroud — proven survivalist.
Indiana Jones — to help us find an ancient artifact that might save humanity.
Jane Austen — because if civilization is ending, someone should at least be writing the novel about it.
    5. Favorite ice cream flavor? Moose Tracks (originated in Michigan!).
