Every month, we shine a spotlight on one of the outstanding members of our Emphasys Software team, giving you a chance to get to know them better. For this month’s edition, we’re excited to introduce you to Mark Duke, our Database Solutions Manager. So, without further ado, let’s dive into some fun facts and questions to learn more about Mark:

“2024 will be my 16th anniversary as a database developer at Emphasys. Before my time at Emphasys, I joined the U.S. Army right out of high school as an Electrical Warfare Intercept Repair, which was a very fancy way of saying Electrical Engineer and Network Administrator with a Top-Secret security clearance. After the military, I was sitting in my father’s living room searching the help wanted ads and found a posting very similar to my last post in the Army. Turns out it was the Housing Authority that was currently housing my father. They were crazy kind enough to hire me which led to my career here. In my off time when I am not writing code, I enjoy painting miniatures and small-scale busts. Some of which I use to play RPGs or tabletop war games like D&D or Warhammer 40k. Occasionally I also like to catch a live rock concert or two… (got to see 95 live performances this year).”
