Hi! My name is Jennifer Ruiz, and I live in sunny Florida. I’ve been in the housing industry for nearly 9 years, starting as an Intake Specialist and working my way up to a Section 8 Caseworker. I’ve also managed Low-Income Public Housing properties as a Property Manager, which gave me a strong foundation in both resident services and property operations.
For the past 5 years, I’ve been part of the amazing team at Emphasys Software. I started in Support, where I learned so much from a brilliant and collaborative group of people. Now, I’m proud to be on the Customer Success team, where I get to combine my technical knowledge with my passion for helping others.
Speaking of passion—I’m also a proud mom of two energetic kids, who I lovingly refer to as my “little hurricanes.” They keep me on my toes, and I’m convinced they’ve secretly formed a tag team to test the limits of my patience and snack supply. 😄
Helping others has always been at the heart of what I do, and I’m grateful to continue that mission through my work in housing and with the incredible clients we serve at Emphasys.

- Most used app on your phone? Amazon (guilty!) — It’s my go-to for everything… even things I didn’t know I needed until 2 a.m.
- If you could be somebody else at Emphasys for a day, who would you be? Mary Carmichael — I’ve known her since I started at Emphasys, and I truly admire her patience, dedication, and how she always shows up for others. She’s a role model both professionally and personally.
- If you had an extra hour every day, what would you do with it? I’d probably use it to finally catch up on sleep… or maybe sneak in a quiet moment before my little hurricanes wake up!
- The zombie apocalypse is coming; who are three people you want on your team?
Ebony: Our field medic and all-around MVP. She’ll patch us up, keep us calm, and probably still manage to look fabulous while doing it.
Delia: She is the boat ; not just because she keeps us moving, but because she’s the ultimate people person. Morale matters when the undead are chasing you!
Neill: The navigator and strategist. He’s the one reading the map, making the tough calls, and keeping us alive just a little longer; which is all you can really ask for in a zombie apocalypse. - Favorite ice cream flavor? Dulce de leche 😊 — Sweet, smooth, and just the right amount of indulgent.
