I began my career at Emphasys in January 2016 as a software developer, onboarding into the PHA department and learning the foundations of our systems from the ground up. Those early months gave me a solid understanding of the technology that supports our clients and established the discipline I still rely on today. After gaining experience there, I transitioned into the DBS department, where I initially focused on database solutions for Elite Software clients. That shift exposed me to deeper layers of data structure, reporting development, and it quickly became clear that data analysis would be a core skill on my professional path.

As my responsibilities grew, so did my interest in analytics and reporting architecture. What began as technical curiosity turned into a long-term academic pursuit. This commitment eventually led me to the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I am completing a master’s degree in data analytics and will be graduating in Spring 2026. The program has strengthened my technical foundation and sharpened the way I evaluate complex systems. It has also allowed me to bring a more analytical perspective to the work I do at Emphasys.

Before joining the company, I completed bachelor’s degrees in computer science, Mathematics, and Music. I moved to the United States from Brazil at age twenty-seven, and that transition shaped both my work ethic and my perspective on personal growth. I am married to a wonderful wife and have two daughters in elementary school. Supporting my children’s development, especially their musical studies, has become an important part of my daily life. I am the youngest of twelve children, a background that taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of helping others. I am actively involved in my church community, driven by a genuine passion for service, mentorship, and helping others navigate challenges with clarity and purpose.

The Five Questions:

    1. Most used app on your phone? The most used app on my phone is my calendar; it has become my personal command center. With work responsibilities, my master’s program, and my children’s music schedules all competing for space, the calendar is the only thing that keeps everything organized and running smoothly. It may not be the most exciting app, but it saves me from daily scheduling chaos.
    2. If you could be somebody else at Emphasys for a day, who would you be? I would choose Paul Maltby; he is an exceptional analytical person. Spending a day with his perspective would offer a tremendous advantage because of how efficiently he breaks down complex situations and identifies solutions. It would be a powerful opportunity to absorb experience and sharpen my analytical approach. Although I would learn a great deal by stepping into his role for a day, I genuinely appreciate that he is always ready to help whenever needed.
    3. If you had an extra hour every day, what would you do with it? I would spend it with my family. My schedule can become very full between work and graduate studies; therefore, I would dedicate any extra time to being fully present with them. Whether it is sharing a meal or simply enjoying moments together, that extra hour would be the most valuable investment I could make.
    4. The zombie apocalypse is coming; who are three people you want on your team?I would start with my wife; she has incredibly sharp hearing and would alert us to the moment anything approaches. I would also choose my brother, because he works in law enforcement and brings strong self-defense training and a steady mindset under pressure. Finally, I would bring my friend who has serious survival skills and has stocked up on emergency food supplies. Of course, these would not be the only people I would want on my team, but these represent three essential skill sets that I would need.
    5. Favorite ice cream flavor? Sea-salted dulce de leche is the top choice; this satisfying flavor stands out every time.
